Not to toot our own horn, but our spec in The Ranch at Lost Creek is pretty stellar. It goes without saying that designer Shay Moore absolutely killed it, as usual.

This house, nestled on just over an acre of land, seamlessly blends modern design and comforts with the natural beauty of its surroundings.

Moving Models

Now for the biggest piece of news: Stonewall Homes has moved to our new model home!

The infamous new model

It’s been a blur of a few weeks, but (mostly) everything is unpacked, and we’re (mostly) settled in. While the new model isn’t quite ready to show just yet, we can’t wait for you all to see it.

Speaking of, keep an eye out for news about the grand opening, which we hope will be grand indeed—this house marks a new, exciting chapter in Stonewall’s homebuilding journey and deserves to be celebrated 🙌

Upcoming: Parade of Homes

It’s that time of year again!

In little less than a month, we’ll be welcoming visitors from all over the state to dozens of open houses. It’ll be two full weekends of touring beautiful homes and meeting great people, and we’re hoping for an even better turnout than last time (which was pretty great, by the way, so we’ve set the bar high).

Stonewall Homes will have four homes in the Fall 2024 Parade, and you can view those and other houses on the official Parade website.

Dates: Sept. 27-29 & Oct. 4-6

Times: 12pm - 6pm

Open Houses:

18717 Selah Way

3522 Triple Bar Ranch

3003 Isabella

18434 Sweetwater

One Month, Four Closings

Because moving offices, preparing for the Parade, and our usual work of building dream homes wasn’t enough to keep us busy for the month, we also decided to go ahead and close on four houses, too.

No biggie.

One of the two customs that closed. We love this house!

Our first spec to sell in the Selah neighborhood 🎉

The model home, one spec house, and two customs closing within a few weeks made this one of the most hectic months of the year, but also one of our most fulfilling. And now—on to September!

The latest from Pete & Co. - Answering Your Questions

In last month’s newsletter, we flipped the usual Q&A script and asked you all a question: what do you want to know? We’d also threatened to write something extremely boring in this post if nobody answered—luckily for everyone, we had a couple of responses 😉

Without further adieu…

Q: How do the sheet rockers get on and off their stilts?

A: This question required a bit of research, as all of us in the office just assumed it was some sort of magic. We asked Don Cannon, our resident sheetrock expert, and this was his response:

“It's real easy. You just climb up a ladder or a windowsill or whatever you can find, sit down, and strap your legs in.”

And there you have it!

Kidding. Don had a lot to say about those stilts.

“They've gotten a lot taller than they used to be, but the 40 inch ones are no problem to get up on. The ones that are as tall as you (note: 5'4") are a lot trickier. Those are harder to walk on, too. The ones my crew use have springs where you put your feet, so there’s some give when you take a step. That way it's a lot like walking normally. But, when you have an extra four feet of leg height than usual, you still have to do this little shuffle to take normal sized steps.”

He then demonstrated the little shuffle. Unfortunately, we didn’t have our cameras out.

Q: Could you do an interview of a recent customer about their experience building a house?

A: Now, this isn’t technically a question about homebuilding itself… but it’s such a good idea that we’re answering it anyway. We’d love to interview one of our previous clients! Sharing experiences and insights is what this blog is all about, after all.

In fact—if we built your home, whether last month or ten years ago, and you’d like to share your experience building with us, feel free to reach out!

For now, we suggest reading our customer testimonials here, and stay tuned for next month’s post!

Thank you for joining us in our journey of making every house a home, and we hope these emails will be a benefit to you. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us here. Until next time! 👋
